Teaches on Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health

Yura Sapi (they/them) is an artist, facilitator and Reiki practitioner of Kichwa descent, born in New York with an Ecuadorian mother and Colombian father. The name they carry was given by an elder during a ritual and means tree roots in Kichwa, a fitting sign for the land-based life they took up after settling in Nuquí, on Colombia's Pacific coast, in 2021. They trained in theatre at Boston University and LAMDA, studied arts management at Brooklyn College and later took executive courses at Harvard Business School. They founded LiberArte, a nonprofit that funds and supports artists working for social change, and host a podcast about organisations led by people of colour.

Their spiritual work runs alongside the arts and community organising rather than apart from it. Yura gives one-to-one Reiki and energy sessions and coaching by video, holds ritual and community workshops such as a series built around the new moon, and is one of the presenters on the Kripalu Online Studio. They treat healing, creativity and justice as a single thread, drawing on ancestral, earth-honouring practice and on their coach training through the Dharma Coaching Institute, accredited by the International Coaching Federation.
