Yong Oh

Yong Oh is an insight meditation teacher based in Durango, Colorado, where he serves on the Dharma Council of the Durango Dharma Center. He is also a core teacher with Sacred Mountain Sangha, the community founded by his main teachers Kittisaro and Thanissara, and he completed their two-year Dharmapala training as well as the four-year IMS retreat teacher training and Spirit Rock's Community Dharma Leaders programme.

Before teaching full time he worked as an acupuncturist, and he has since retired from that work. His teaching brings together the natural world, devotion and close attention: he teaches in the online Nature Sangha and BIPOC Sangha at IMS, leads land-based and residential retreats at IMS, Big Bear, Vallecitos and other centres, and has a particular commitment to communities of colour and to people who care for others. In early 2027 he guides daily online practice in IMS's thirty-day Experience of Insight programme, and he offers practice interviews by donation.
