Whitney Freya

Whitney Freya is an artist, author and teacher of sacred painting, a practice that uses painting as meditation and as a way into intuition and spiritual life. In 1996, at 26 and with no art training, she opened an art centre and only then began to paint herself; for around thirty years since she has taught people who believe they cannot paint to work freely with colour, symbol and brush. She founded the Creatively Fit Coaching programme, now called Creative Frequency Coach Training, which has certified hundreds of coaches since 2010, and she created the first painting meditation course on DailyOM. She has taught at Esalen, Kripalu, Burning Man and Agape.

Her online courses include painting meditations on the Buddhist deity Tara and on the Buddha, the Vision Quest programme built around the four elements, and Super Soul Flow, which combines guided meditation with painting. She has written four books on personal creativity, among them Rise Above and 30 Days to Unstoppable, and offers free guided meditations through her Dreams Made Visible app. She also leads art retreats abroad and founded the Great Mother March, a walking pilgrimage devoted to the Earth and the sacred feminine. She lives in north-east Oregon, where she paints and flies a paraglider, and teaches Heal Through Sacred Painting on The Shift Network.
