White Tiger Qigong

White Tiger Qigong began in 2008 as one teacher's effort to bring the closed-door Daoist practices he had trained in across China to people who would never travel to a mountain temple. It has since grown into one of the largest online qigong schools in the world. The school says it has taught more than 70,000 students in over 80 countries, and it now runs more than 40 online courses and a global network of certified instructors. Its motto, "Preserve the depth. Prove the science," sums up the approach: traditional medical qigong taught alongside modern ideas about fascia, biomechanics and Chinese medicine theory.

Students usually start with a free five-day challenge, then follow a structured path through the school's core systems. There are six certification tracks: Qigong Breathwork, Dragon Meridian, Five Element, Eight Trigram, Five Animal (taught as seasonal "Summer" and "Winter" paths) and the fitness-oriented 5 Force Fit. Each instructor's level, from 1 to 8, is shown with one of the eight trigrams of the Bagua. Membership starts at $39 a month. The school also hosts the White Tiger Qigong Podcast.

Away from the screen, the school runs residential immersions at Alba Wellness Valley near Hue, Vietnam. These include Bagua walking retreats, Ba Duan Jin (Eight/Eleven Brocades) teacher trainings, and in-person Five Element and Five Animal certifications, with dates scheduled into 2028. Its directory lists 165 certified teachers across 36 countries, so many students can also find a teacher near home.
