Teaches on Insight Timer

Tony Brady is a mindfulness teacher and writer living in Dublin. Raised a Catholic, he kept a lifelong interest in the spiritual life and in the 1990s, prompted by the writing of Jon Kabat-Zinn, began to practise meditation and study the Buddhist path. His teaching brings these strands together: Buddhist meditation and ethics, Christian contemplative prayer, Stoic thought and a little modern psychology, offered in a plain, gentle voice to people of any faith or none. He is wary of mindfulness reduced to a technique and speaks of it instead as a way of living, returning again and again to the present moment.

Since 2018 he has published a large body of short guided meditations and talks on Insight Timer, many of them morning practices, along with courses on gratitude, loving kindness, decluttering and caring for the earth. His recurring themes are gratitude, forgiveness, kindness and beginning again. He has written several small books of reflections and prayers, among them Just for Today, The Gratitude Response and A Wave of Blessing, and on his website Life of Mindfulness he posts a weekly thought and a hundred-word reflection with a meditation to go with it. Everything he shares online is free, and he asks anyone who wants to give something back to support a charity.
