Teaches on Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health

Todd Norian is a yoga teacher, musician and author based in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, and the founder of Ashaya Yoga, a method that brings precise physical alignment together with the philosophy of nondual Shaiva-Shakta Tantra. He began practising in 1980 and in 1983 moved into the Kripalu ashram, where he lived as a resident for thirteen years, directed residents' practice and helped build Kripalu's original yoga teacher training. He later trained as a Phoenix Rising yoga therapist, became a senior Anusara teacher and trainer, and spent many years studying Tantra with scholars and teachers including Paul Muller-Ortega, Douglas Brooks and Sally Kempton. He is an authorised teacher of Neelakantha meditation in Muller-Ortega's Blue Throat Yoga lineage and is now one of Kripalu's Legacy faculty.

Ashaya Yoga, which he launched in 2012, works with the five elements, light and shadow, and the idea that we are already whole, taught with warmth and a good deal of humour. Todd leads a live online membership with classes on Zoom and a monthly theme, one-to-one spiritual mentoring, meditation initiations, teacher trainings and retreats in the United States and abroad. A trained classical and jazz pianist, he has recorded several albums of music and mantra for practice, among them Bija, and in 2021 he published a memoir, Tantra Yoga: Journey to Unbreakable Wholeness.
