Teaches on Insight Timer

Stuart Sandeman is a Scottish breathwork teacher based in London and the founder of Breathpod. Before this work he competed in judo to black-belt level, spent time in finance and made music as a DJ and producer. The death of his partner in 2016 led him to breathing practice as a way through grief, and he went on to train as a breathing coach, drawing on Eastern methods alongside the physiology of respiration. He set up Breathpod in 2017.

His sessions pair guided conscious breathing with electronic music, an approach he has taken to festivals, art spaces and his own Sunday sessions in east London, as well as to BBC Radio 1, where he presents the Decompression Sessions. He coaches athletes, musicians and teams, and has run breath training for companies including Nike and Google. His book, Breathe In, Breathe Out, is a practical guide to how we breathe and how to change it. Most of his teaching now runs through the Breathpod app, with daily practices and short programmes, and he also shares free guided breathing on Insight Timer, from box breathing to longer, more energising sessions.
