Stephen Dinan

Founder of The Shift Network

In 2010 Stephen Dinan founded The Shift Network, which he leads as chief executive, to bring spiritual teachers, thinkers and healers to a global audience through online courses, summits and trainings. He studied human biology at Stanford University and East-West psychology at CIIS, the California Institute of Integral Studies. Earlier in his career he co-created and directed the Center for Theory & Research at the Esalen Institute, and at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, where he directed membership and marketing, he led the Shift in Action programme and the One Minute Shift media series.

In his own teaching he joins spiritual practice with purpose, leadership and social change. His book Sacred America, Sacred World offers a hopeful, transpartisan vision of a nation and a world guided by spiritual values, and he edited Radical Spirit, an anthology of writing by a younger generation of spiritual voices. Among the gatherings where he has spoken are the World Cultural Forum in China and, in Costa Rica, the Alliance for a New Humanity. These days he mentors spirit-led teachers and entrepreneurs in reaching a wider audience with their work. He lives in San Rafael, California.
