Teaches on Insight Timer

Solala Towler teaches Daoist practice from Eugene, Oregon, where he runs the Abode of the Eternal Tao. He has studied the Daoist arts for more than three decades, learning qigong forms such as Wuji Gong and Chinese Essence Qigong from Chinese teachers including Chen Fu Yin. For a quarter of a century he edited and published The Empty Vessel, a journal of Daoist thought and practice, and he once served as president of the National Qigong Association.

His teaching brings together sitting, standing and moving meditation, qigong, the classic Daoist stories, the I Ching and the Way of Tea, which he shares through the gongfu tea ceremony. Students can work with him one to one, in person in Eugene or over video calls, invite him to lead a weekend qigong seminar in their own area, or study at home with his recorded course on Daoism. He has also taken small groups to China and Taiwan to visit temples, teahouses and Daoist teachers. His books include Practicing the Tao Te Ching, Returning to the Source, Cha Dao, Tea Mind Tea Heart and Tales from the Tao, and he records guided meditations, qigong lessons and short courses for Insight Timer.
