Teaches on Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health

Sigal Brier, known to many of her students as Rabbi Sigal, is an ordained rabbi and meditation teacher who draws together Jewish mysticism, contemplative practice and psychology. She studied at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, where she took a master's degree in Jewish studies, and she also holds a master's in organisational psychology from West Chester University. She has meditated for more than thirty years, has trained in yoga and in several body-based and psycho-spiritual approaches, and spent over a decade serving a congregation.

Her own approach, which she calls the Mendful Path, begins from the view that people are already whole and grow through kindness, self-compassion and honest conversation rather than through striving or repair. On retreat she weaves together guided meditation, yoga nidra, teachings from Kabbalah, gentle movement and group dialogue, and she leads weekend programmes at Kripalu and has taught at the Open Center in New York. She also mentors individuals, couples and working teams, officiates Jewish and interfaith ceremonies, works in clay and has recorded albums of Hebrew and English chant. Her TEDx talk in Cape May looked at what it takes to live as yourself.
