Teaches on Insight Meditation Society

Roxanne Dault is an insight meditation teacher living in Montréal (Tiohtià:ke), where she is a guiding teacher with True North Insight, the bilingual Canadian sangha also called Voie boréale. Over more than twenty years of practice she has sat long silent retreats in Asia and in North America, adding up to more than two years in silence. Joseph Goldstein invited her into the four-year IMS teacher training, and she now leads retreats in Barre as well as in Quebec and France. Her roots are in the Burmese vipassana lineage of Mahasi Sayadaw.

She teaches in both French and English: a weekly francophone sangha in Montréal and on Zoom, online lovingkindness gatherings for IMS, residential retreats, and a graduate course on mindful presence at UQAM. Time in nature and Indigenous wisdom colour her teaching, and she is learning Anishinaabemowin, the language of her ancestors. Her training in Somatic Experiencing shows in the way she brings attention back to the body. Alongside group work she meets practitioners one to one for mentoring, offered on a dana basis.
