Born in Australia, Robert Moss is a storyteller, author and dream teacher who created Active Dreaming, his own blend of shamanic practice and modern dreamwork. He had three near-death experiences as a child; he sees them as his first openings to other realms, and he later wrote about them in a memoir. He once taught ancient history as a lecturer at the Australian National University, and has also worked as a journalist, poet and independent scholar.
In Active Dreaming, dreams are approached as real experiences and journeys rather than simply as material for analysis. Moss teaches how to re-enter a dream, how to travel consciously in dreams and how to share them in small groups, as well as kairomancy, his word for noticing signs and synchronicity in waking life. Conscious Dreaming, Dreamgates, The Secret History of Dreaming, Sidewalk Oracles and Growing Big Dreams are among his more than a dozen books. He gives workshops around the world, offers a three-year training for those who want to teach Active Dreaming, and has recorded many self-paced courses with The Shift Network on lucid and shamanic dreaming, ancient dream traditions, and dreams of death and the afterlife.
