Teaches on Omega Institute

Reggie Hubbard came to yoga and meditation while working in national politics, grassroots organising, international education and marketing, and found in the practice a steady refuge from the strain of that work. He went on to train for close to a thousand hours with teachers such as Sri Dharma Mittra, Rod Stryker, Amy Ippoliti and Faith Hunter, holds Yoga Alliance's senior 500-hour registration, and finished the two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program in 2023. He studied philosophy at Yale.

He founded Active Peace, through which he teaches gentle hatha-style yoga, guided meditation, breath practice and long sound sessions with gongs and other instruments, often woven together with open, honest group conversation. A central thread is helping activists and organisers look after their inner lives, while encouraging people in the wellness world to take part in civic life. Based around Washington, DC and Maryland, he leads classes in person and online, offers one-to-one sessions, and runs retreats at Kripalu, including a gathering for men of colour, and at Omega. His teaching has featured with the Be Here Now Network, Sounds True and Upaya Zen Center.
