A practitioner available in your area.Teaches on Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health
Pilin Anice (said puh-LYNN) grew up in Flint, Michigan, and first met yoga, meditation and West African dance as a theatre student at Howard University. She went on to work as a performer in New York, on stage Off-Broadway and on national tours and in a long run of television commercials, while her own practice deepened alongside. She is a 500-hour registered yoga teacher who trained at Kripalu in pranayama, Ayurveda and meditation, studied nutrition at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and has spent close to twenty years learning Dunham technique and the dances of West Africa, Haiti, Cuba and Brazil.
Now lead faculty at Kripalu, she teaches breath-led vinyasa, restorative and gentle yoga, yoga dance and meditation, often with live drumming, and leads the centre's welcome weekends and its teacher training for practitioners of the global majority. She also teaches at the Ailey Extension in New York and holds a monthly class with live music at Grace Farms in New Canaan, Connecticut. Online, her PAL app offers a subscription library of yoga, barre, meditation and plant-based recipes, and she runs small Restore & Explore retreats abroad. Her classes are warm and community-minded, with room for everyone to move in their own way.
