Philip Carr-Gomm, an English psychologist, writer and teacher of Druidry, lives on the South Downs in Sussex. As a teenager he studied Druidry with Ross Nichols, who had founded OBOD, the Druid order he would later lead. Asked to take it on in 1988, he guided it for more than thirty years while it grew into one of the world's largest Druid groups. He studied psychology at University College London, went on to train in psychosynthesis psychotherapy, play therapy, sophrology and Montessori education, and later qualified to teach mindfulness meditation and Yoga Nidra.
In his teaching, nature spirituality meets Western psychology and the broader perennial wisdom tradition. He works through conversation, storytelling, poetry, ritual, meditation and oracles drawn from plants and animals. Of the twenty or so books he has written or co-written, the best known include Druid Mysteries and The Book of English Magic, along with two decks made with his wife Stephanie, The DruidCraft Tarot and The Druid Animal Oracle. He offers online courses through his own platforms and The Shift Network, gives talks and workshops, presents the long-running YouTube series Tea with a Druid, and founded the Sophrology Institute.
