Teaches on The Shift Network

Perdita Finn writes and teaches about building a working relationship with the ancestors and the dead. Her teachers have included Zen teachers, priests, spirit workers and healers, and she served an apprenticeship with the psychic Suzan Saxman; together they wrote The Reluctant Psychic. She and her husband Clark Strand, a former Zen monk, co-founded The Way of the Rose, a lay rosary fellowship centred on the divine feminine and on what they describe as ecology, not theology; their book of the same name tells how it began.

Animism, ancestor veneration and older, mother-centred traditions run through her teaching and through her books Take Back the Magic: Conversations with the Unseen World and Mothers of Magic: Summoning the Wisdom of Our Ancestors. Working with altars, ritual, oracles, dreamwork and prayer, she teaches through Zoom workshops, a year-long course called A Year of Living with the Dead, monthly gatherings for readers of her Substack, and self-paced courses on The Shift Network. Her home is in the Catskill Mountains of New York.
