Norma and Nisha Burton

Norma J. Burton and her daughter Nisha Burton teach lucid dreaming together under the name Lucid Dreaming, Lucid Living. Norma is a Jungian-trained psychologist, ordained minister and hospice chaplain who completed a master of divinity in Berkeley and spent around twenty-five years learning from Indigenous shamanic elders; earlier in her career she was a senior minister in Ashland, Oregon. Nisha brings more than a decade of her own lucid dreaming practice and a background in virtual reality and filmmaking, which shapes the visual, hands-on side of their teaching.

Their signature approach, which they call psychonavigation, treats dreaming, drumming journeys and waking mindfulness as linked ways of travelling between states of awareness, with shadow work running through all of it. They offer self-paced online courses, a free five-day dream challenge and a free iPhone dream journal app, post short teaching videos on YouTube, and lead a week-long residential programme at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York. Together they wrote Navigating Liminal Realms and created the Lucid Dreaming, Lucid Living oracle deck, and both titles have been published in several languages.
