Teaches on Omega Institute

Meggan Watterson is a feminist theologian and writer whose work centres on early Christian texts that were kept out of the New Testament, above all the Gospel of Mary, along with the Acts of Paul and Thecla. She studied at Harvard Divinity School, where she took a master's in theological studies, and at Union Theological Seminary in New York, where she earned a master of divinity. Her bestselling Mary Magdalene Revealed sits alongside The Girl Who Baptized Herself, Reveal and a book of advice on love and relationships, and she has created two oracle decks, one drawn from Mary Magdalene's story and one on the divine feminine.

At the heart of her teaching is the soul-voice meditation, a simple practice of resting attention in the heart and listening for the quiet voice of love beneath the ego. She reads the excluded gospels as living spiritual guidance, especially for women looking for their own authority. She leads the House of Mary Magdalene, an online community that meets on Zoom once a month to study these scriptures passage by passage, gives talks and retreats, including a weekend at Omega, and writes regularly on Substack.
