Teaches on Commune

Mary Beth LaRue, known to students as MB, has taught yoga for more than twenty years and now works as a slow flow teacher and somatic practitioner under the name Embodied by MB. She first stepped onto a mat at twenty, looking for a way to live in her body rather than in her head, and went on to train in yoga with teachers such as Ally Hamilton, Kia Miller, Chad Dennis and Schuyler Grant, later studying somatic approaches with Britt Piper, Scott Lyons and others. She has led classes at Kripalu, 1440 Multiversity and Wanderlust, mentored newer teachers and appeared on the cover of Yoga Journal.

Her classes are unhurried, creative flows set to carefully chosen music, with room for breath, stillness and noticing sensation; the emphasis is on presence rather than performance. From her home in the Colorado mountains she teaches live weekly classes and keeps an on-demand library through her online membership, works with people one to one and in small groups, and leads retreats in person. Free practices are on her YouTube channel, and on Commune she teaches the slow flow half of The Wellest Challenge with trainer Jacy Cunningham. She also writes a Substack called Right Now It's Like This.
