Teaches on Commune

Lynne Twist has spent more than forty years working to end hunger and poverty, to support women and girls and to protect the Amazon rainforest, and out of that work came her way of seeing money as a mirror of what we value most. She co-founded the Pachamama Alliance, which partners with Indigenous peoples of the Ecuadorian Amazon, and she founded the Soul of Money Institute, where she teaches with her colleague Sara Vetter. Her path has taken her to Mother Teresa's work in Kolkata and to refugee camps in Ethiopia, and she has advised philanthropic families and the Nobel Women's Initiative on fundraising.

Her best-known book, The Soul of Money (2003), looks at how the belief that there is never enough shapes the way we earn, spend and give, and invites a quieter sense of sufficiency; it has appeared in many languages. Living a Committed Life (2022) explores what becomes possible when people give themselves to a purpose larger than their own lives. Through the institute she offers recorded online courses, coaching, consulting and talks, and her ten-day Commune course gathers lessons and practices on gratitude, enough-ness and generosity in our dealings with money.
