Teaches on Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health

Lorelei Chang is a Chinese-born modern dancer and qigong teacher who has spent close to fifty years bringing movement, brush calligraphy and Daoist practice together. Her mother taught her and her twin sister qigong when they were young teenagers, and her father put a calligraphy brush in her hand at four. In 2008 she and the Japanese choreographer Mai Nakanishi founded dancEnlight, a dance company rooted in the Hartford area of Connecticut that performs in the United States and Japan.

As a teacher she leads weekly qigong series on Zoom, blending forms such as Zhineng Qigong and silk reeling with yogic breath and Daoist themes, alongside online Baguazhang, in-person calligraphy lessons and private classes. She trained in Five Element Shiatsu with Nini Melvin, is certified in Daisy Lee's Radiant Lotus Women's Qigong and studies Hun Yuan taiji and Bagua with Zhang Qilong, whose family form of Turtle Qigong she now shares with his blessing. She has taught at Kripalu, Omega, the Himalayan Institute and the National Qigong Association, and her classes are gentle, unhurried and open to all levels.
