Shamanic Breathwork, the ceremonial practice created by shamanic teacher Linda Star Wolf, combines cyclical breathing, chakra-attuned music, bodywork, art and group sharing. In the 1970s she started out as a therapist and counsellor, and she studied breathwork and consciousness with teachers including Ram Dass, Leonard Orr, Stanislav Grof and Jacquelyn Small. During the 1990s she trained with the Eupsychia Institute and studied the Wolf Clan teachings of Twylah Nitsch, a Seneca elder who adopted her as a spiritual granddaughter and gave her the name Star Wolf.
On Dove Mountain in North Carolina she founded the Venus Rising Association for Transformation and Venus Rising University. There, students follow a training path she calls S.H.I.P., an initiatory shamanic process, to become Shamanic Breathwork facilitators and shamanic ministers. She and her husband, Nikólaus Wolf, lead Shamanic Mystery Tours to sacred sites in Egypt, Peru, Bali and elsewhere, and host small retreats in Portugal. Thirteen books carry her name as author or co-author, including Shamanic Breathwork, Visionary Shamanism, Shamanic Mysteries of Egypt with Nicki Scully, and The Aquarian Shaman, which is also the name of the broadcast she hosts. She teaches on The Shift Network.
