Teaches on Insight Timer

Laurie Cameron is a mindfulness teacher, coach and writer living in the Washington, DC area. She came to meditation in the mid-1990s and has stayed with the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh ever since, formally taking the Five Mindfulness Trainings from him in 2013. Before teaching full time she spent years in management consulting and corporate leadership, living and working in Brazil and Germany, and that background still shapes how she speaks about practice: plainly, and with an eye on ordinary working days.

She founded PurposeBlue, through which she coaches individuals, runs mindful leadership programmes and retreats, and gives keynotes. She was among the first group of teachers certified by the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, the programme that began at Google, and is also trained as a Presence-Based coach. Her book The Mindful Day, published by National Geographic in 2018, sets out small practices for each part of the day, from waking to sleep. She has given a TEDx talk on compassion, offers talks at the Center for Mindful Living in DC, and now writes a weekly Substack letter, already, always, on presence, belonging and self-compassion.
