A practitioner available in your area.Teaches on Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health
Larissa Hall Carlson has taught yoga for close to thirty years, most of them in connection with Kripalu Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where she was once dean of the School of Ayurveda and now directs 200-hour, 500-hour and advanced teacher trainings. She holds a master's degree in mindfulness studies and is a certified Ayurvedic practitioner, and she has also trained as an end-of-life doula and in Yee Yoga and prenatal yoga. With Dr. John Douillard she co-led the Ayurveda 101 and 201 online courses for Yoga Journal.
Her teaching brings together breathwork, meditation and seasonal Ayurvedic self-care, with a particular love of pranayama and of the four heart practices of loving-kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity. For more than ten years she worked with the young musicians at Tanglewood, and she has taught at conservatories, schools and universities, helping performers find steadiness before they go on stage. She leads retreats at Kripalu, Canyon Ranch and the Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas, gives Vedic astrology readings and Ayurveda consultations over Zoom, sells short audio courses through her own site and shares a library of free guided practices on Insight Timer. Her business, Vermont Vedic Arts, is based in southern Vermont.
