Teaches on Insight Timer

Katharine Chestnut is a mindfulness teacher, author and coach based in Atlanta, Georgia. She spent decades in corporate marketing, much of it in the trade-show world, before moving into coworking; she founded the Atlanta workspace Alkaloid Networks and helped start a citywide alliance of coworking operators. Years of high pressure and a painful marriage led her back to meditation and Eastern ideas she had explored when younger, and she went on to train as a behavioural kinesiologist and to study mindfulness for more than twenty years.

Her teaching is aimed mostly at busy, high-achieving women who look settled from the outside but feel stretched within. She keeps practices short and repeatable: breath-led meditations, reflective writing and small daily habits rather than big overhauls. Her journaling method, set out in the book Inner Affirmations and its follow-up of 365 prompts, uses writing to hear one's own inner voice more clearly. She runs self-paced online courses and a private coaching programme, posts weekly talks and full-moon meditations on YouTube about self-trust, rest and people-pleasing, and has shared guided practices on Insight Timer since 2019. She also speaks at conferences on bringing mindfulness into working life.
