Dr. Jeffrey Thompson

Dr. Jeffrey Thompson trained as a chiropractor and has a fine-arts background in music, and for several decades he has studied the effects of sound, rhythm and vibration on awareness and brainwave states. A composer, sound researcher and teacher, he founded the Center for Neuroacoustic Research, based in Carlsbad, California. His neuroacoustic soundtracks rely on brainwave entrainment, using phase-modulated binaural beats of his own design and three-dimensional sound processing, and he worked on the release of NASA's Voyager space-sound recordings.

Scientific Sounds sells his recordings for relaxation, meditation and creativity, and Sounds True has published several of his audio programmes, among them Brainwave Symphony and Gamma Meditation System. His YouTube channel carries long-form live talks on intuition, consciousness, sacred geometry and the default mode network, as well as Global Mind Link, his group sound sessions. On The Shift Network he teaches quantum acoustics and psychoacoustics.
