Jacqui Bonwell is a Massachusetts yoga and meditation teacher who came to the mat after years in social work, probation and child protection. She was in the first 200-hour training class run by Open Doors Yoga in Weymouth in 2005, later completed her 500-hour certification with Rolf Gates, and has since studied the energy teachings of Caroline Myss and Anodea Judith. She is also a Reiki Master in the Usui lineage and holds yin and prenatal yoga certifications.
Since 2010 she has run the Sacred Seeds Yoga School, training several hundred new teachers at the 200- and 300-hour levels, and she created CLIR, a restorative chair yoga certification for prisons, care homes and other places where floor props are not available. Her classes lean on chakra themes, breath, journaling and long, quiet restorative holds. She teaches weekly in the Boston area, guests at studios across Massachusetts and Maine, has presented at Kripalu since 2012, and leads yoga fundraisers for children's and veterans' charities. She co-wrote the contemplative almanac Migrations with Andy Cahill and in 2026 published Holy Shift, a book on the Yoga Sutras.
