Dr. Farokh J. Master

Dr. Farokh J. Master

Farokh Master left orthodox medical studies in June 1976 to join Bombay Homeopathic Medical College, graduating in 1979 with first-class honours. In 1994 he became, by his own account, India's first MD in homeopathy, taking the degree at MPK Homeopathic Medical College in Jaipur, and he later completed a PhD.

He runs the Homeopathic Health Centre in Mumbai and teaches at Mumbai Homeopathic Medical College, and he is among the most travelled teachers in the field — his seminar archive lists summer schools in more than forty cities, from Toronto and Chicago to Kyoto, Kuala Lumpur, Lisbon and Belgrade. He holds visiting professorships at homeopathic colleges across the UK, Canada, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Norway, Greece, Cyprus, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Germany.

He has written more than sixty books, of which fifty-two are in English, translated into nine languages — a catalogue that ranges from repertory technique and materia medica study method to Bach flower remedies, fairy tales, and provings of individual substances. Outside the teaching, he runs a free clinic and a free veterinary clinic at the Homeopathic Health Centre, the latter operating since 1980, and he is known within the profession for that philanthropic work as much as for the books.

Complementary to, not a replacement for, medical care.
