Ekta Bathija

Teaches on Insight Timer

Ekta Bathija is a teacher of self-inquiry who has guided students since 1998 and now leads Gnyana Sangha from St. George, Utah. Rather than holding to one tradition, she teaches across several: Advaita Vedanta and the Upanishads, the Buddha's discourses and Zen parables, Ramana Maharshi's question 'Who am I?', and the songs of Saint Kabir, alongside the teachings of Nisargadatta Maharaj and Atmananda Krishna Menon. Her view is that every real path points to the same recognition, so students may follow whichever one draws them.

Her teaching is structured and demanding. Students watch recorded sessions, do written homework and quizzes, keep a daily spiritual journal and sit for exams, and those who complete the groundwork may join her Gurukul and ask for one-to-one mentoring. She gives particular weight to what dreams and deep sleep reveal about the self, a practice she calls Swapna Nidra Gnyana. Sessions run online and in person, from weekend gatherings to silent retreats of up to twenty-four days, and she charges no fees for any of them. She has written a series of books she calls Drishti, or direct seeing, on texts such as Ramana's Nan Yar and the Rama Gita, and she publishes talks on a group of YouTube channels and a podcast, I AM THAT.
