Teaches on Esalen Institute

Dustin DiPerna is a meditation teacher and writer on religion who studied world religions at Harvard and now teaches courses on meditation and finding purpose at Stanford University. For around two decades he worked closely with the philosopher Ken Wilber, and Integral Theory shapes much of his writing, especially his interest in how the major traditions can support stages of inner growth. His main meditation training came from the late Daniel P. Brown, with whom he studied for sixteen years and co-led Tibetan Mahamudra and Dzogchen retreats for a decade.

His retreats teach classical systems step by step, such as the nine stages of concentration from the Indo-Tibetan tradition, followed by the early stages of insight, with the aim that students leave with a practice they can keep up at home. He teaches in the United States, Europe, Australia and China, and records short talks for Insight Timer. His books include Streams of Wisdom, a guide to spiritual development, Evolution's Ally, on religious traditions as paths of transformation, and Earth is Eden, written with Jon Darrall-Rew. He lives in California with his family.
