Teaches on Commune

Chelsey Korus is a vinyasa teacher who started leading classes as a teenager, at fifteen, and has kept widening her practice ever since. Alongside Anusara, power vinyasa and Ashtanga she has trained in partner acrobatics, martial arts, free-form dance and ballet, and for several years she performed acroyoga at festivals with Matt Giordano. Those influences show in her teaching, which is athletic and inventive, with a lot of attention to the core, arm balances and the wrists and shoulders that support them.

She describes her approach as moving as a form of prayer, and her classes pair strong sequences with reflection, journalling and themes drawn from yoga philosophy, such as presence, intuition and learning to say yes and no clearly. For many years she has headlined Wanderlust and other yoga festivals across North America and Europe, led retreats in Greece and the American Midwest, and taught live online programmes for Kripalu. Much of her recorded teaching lives on platforms such as Yoga International, Glo and Commune, where her ten-day course Flow with Intention links vinyasa practice with writing prompts about living in a state of flow.
