Amanda Johnson

Amanda Johnson is the founder of Awaken Village Press and the “book doula” of the spiritual publishing world — a woman whose own journey to authorship became the seed of an entire village. Writing her memoir taught her the truth she now builds her life around: stories are not birthed alone. They need community, care, and courage. From that knowing she created Awaken Village Press, the regenerative indie publishing house whose mission is to awaken the planet one book at a time, where she serves — in the Village’s own lovely language — as its Sun: tending the vision, holding the spark, and walking beside new authors from first word to published book.

Her own book, Becoming Free: From Letting Go to Embracing It All (2024), is the Village’s founding testament — one woman’s quest to unshackle herself from everything she fears, carried from the valleys of Peru to the beaches of Costa Rica to the piazzas of Italy, and written with the raw honesty, vulnerability and wisdom she now midwifes in others. For every reader who senses a book inside them, and for every seeker learning what letting go actually means, Amanda is living proof of her own teaching: that revealing and expressing more of who we truly are can change the world.
