The Big Book of Reiki Symbols

By Mikao Usui

An exhaustive treatment of the symbols and mantras of the Usui system, tracing several back to Japanese Buddhist and Shinto antecedents. Hosak's background in Japanese esoteric practice gives the etymological work real weight. Note that traditional teachers regard publishing the symbols at all as a breach.
