Cannibal

By Michael Harner

Harner's only work of fiction, co-written with journalist Alfred Meyer, a novel built around Aztec sacrifice and the ecological arguments he had made in his controversial 1977 essay on the subject. A genuine outlier in his bibliography and long out of print, of interest chiefly to readers tracing how his thinking moved between scholarship and imagination.
